Tribal Leaders, Lawyers, Professors, and Colleagues,

Are you or your organization planning to attend this year’s session of the UN Permanent Forum on Indigenous Issues (UNPFII) for the first time? If yes, there are three steps to take:

STEP 1 (deadline March 13, 2023):  Create a New Profile for your tribe, organization, or academic institution, following instructions in the Guide of Participation of NEW Indigenous Peoples Organizations (IPOs) and Academic Institutions.
Note: Tribes and nonprofits should register as “Indigenous Peoples Organizations” (IPOs)

STEP 2: Once you’ve created a new profile, you will receive two emails back from the UN.

The first email will confirm that your organization is confirmed.

The second email will invite you to register the individuals who will attend from your tribe, entity, or institution. Note: You must register each individual who will attend.

STEP 3: Upon arrival in New York, each individual will need to visit the UN Badge Office to receive the credential allowing them to enter the UN building. More information on this to come.

If you or your organization has attended UNPFII previously or if your organization has ECOSOC status: Registration is not currently open. However, please review and update your organizational profile and contact information in the integrated Civil Society Organizations (iCSO) System. We will be reaching out again when it is time for you and your organization to register.

The UNPFII Twenty-second Session will take place at the UN Headquarters in New York City, April 17-28.  You can find more information about the session such as the provisional agenda, program of work, and frequently asked questions at the UNPFII Twenty-Second Session- 2023 Website.

The Implementation Project will be holding a UNPFII Preparation Session on April 11th and more information about this event will be coming soon!

If you have any questions about registration, reach out to us at Declaration@narf.org or see more of our work at The Implementation Project website
